I had lunch with shix today, which was fun, and (as seems to be usual) went longer than it should have.

As I was walking back to the office, on a cold rainy day, the pod picked out Radiohead's High and Dry. Have you ever walked around listening to a song and thought that it just perfectly fit everything that you saw? I feel like on a rainy summer day walking around a pleasant area with trees and few people around, and no one seems to mind the rain, nothing tops Led Zeppelin's The Rain Song. It just works. It makes me feel happy and awesome. High and Dry is the same way for the cold rainy day in the middle of the city. It just fits. It makes me want to cry. It's not really anything in the lyrics, it's just the way it sounds, and the pain in Thom Yorke's voice. Everyone looks pained and uncomfortable, and I want to be anywhere but in the cold rainy city. I gave a homeless guy a few extra dollars because when I gave him a light, his hands were shaking and it made me sad that there wasn't really anything else I could do for him. Sometimes life sucks. I wish I had taken him out for coffee or something so I could find out how he ended up there at that moment.

It wears me out.
