More things running through my mind during the commute!

Two things for you this morning.

1) It constantly surprises me how little effort many journalists put into sounding like they know what they are talking about. Even on NPR and BBC world (the only news I watch/listen to these days), I frequently have to cringe at the butchering of the names of people and places. Is Ashkelon that hard to pronounce? Or the name of the Muslim Cleric Muqtada al-Sadr. It seems to me that if a journalist properly researched a report, he would have come across enough people who knew how to properly pronounce the names of the people/places involved, and should be able to properly pronounce it. Ok, I'm done rambling.

2) Jet Blue ad: "if you're a person, Jet Blue is the airline for you!"

Brilliant.

1) Wooo! I'm right!
2) You reallly needed to hear it... it was very tongue in cheeck. It was a radio ad done in a very 50's style announcer voice. I liked it. The only ads that are at all good are the ones that undertand that ads are stupid. Even those suck though. Ads suck.

3) Found!? Found nothin! You just didn't look hard enough!
4) Ermm.... my brother? Oh wait... no... shir! How's it goin? It goes for me. I would post more, but somehow I still feel weird about having things I say posted for all to see. If you're ever on AIM, I'm FlyinButrs there too.

okay, you can email me off of this. it's belowthebeltshira@yahoo.com. i'm not a big IMr, mostly because i have severe brand loyalty towards PCs [or, more accurately, a deep fear and misunderstanding of macs - my housemate's computer, which i use most regularly, is a mac] so i spend as little time as possible in front of it. which is probably healthy.
