Oy...

So, a lot of crazy stuff has been going on, and I have pretty much forgotten to write it down. I have an entry on my laptop that I wrote about my thanksgiving, but I keep forgetting to actually post it. Maybe tonight I will. Hrmm... I am well settled in my house now, and things are moving along swimmingly.

Had a good week... Last tuesday I decided not to see the family because... well... I am sick of feeling tethered to them. I liked my relationship with them a lot better when I was far away and didn't have to see them a whole lot. I need to get back into the mindset of being far away, and not having to visit them just because I can. On the other hand, it's hard to say no to hot homecooked meals, and it's hard to really get away since I keep leaving stuff there that I have to pick up. Anyway, I blew off the fam on tuesday to go drinking with Dov and Eli and Jo and Lesley at Mad 4 Mex. Fun times... good wings, over-tequila'd margueritas... I was still recovering from the previous wednesday night when I drank myself into oblivion at the company holiday party, so I took it really light on the alcohol. Jo took my hat and gloves from the restaurant. Bastard.

Thursday night, brett, sam, ed, vicky, dov and I all went out drinking after work, to celebrate not having to work the next day. Again, the nodding head, because I love it. Friday I bummed around a lot, and played video games in bed until 3 when my brothers called to say that they were going to watch Return of the King Extended at my fathers on his plasma screen with kick ass surround sound (my design). I rushed out of bed, threw some clothes into a laundry basket, picked up and dropped off dov and was happily watching the lord of the rings an hour and a half later... Oh, and somewhere in there I said hello to the kamm's, and finally paid off my debt to the ICA for breaking their wall... see earlier entry back in aug/sept for details. That movie rocks... moving on...

Saturday night I went out to see The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, with Eli, Jo, Jen, and Seth. The movie was really cool, but not as good as Wes Anderson's last film, The Royal Tennenbaums. Not that that's a bad thing, it's hard to top a movie like that. The plot wasn't quite as good, and not as complex, but it definitely had a lighter jocularity to it. After the movie, we all went out for drinks at Eulogy, which was awesome. It's owned by the same person who owns Nodding Head, and is also a place that isn't too loud or crowded (things I utterly despise in bars). And, as a bonus, the music they were playing was absolutely the best I've ever heard at a bar. They played Interpol, Franz Ferdinand, Moby, and two full albums of radiohead back to back. After last call, we dropped jen off, and went into eli's for a bit. We hung out on the roof of the building for a half hour, which was awesome. Being on the roof of a tall building is like being on top of a mountain. In the middle of a city. It's awesome. And windy. And cold. But seeing the view out of a window just isn't the same. Then, home.

Also, a few weeks back I went to a jewish bar type thing with dov and brett and sam, and had a good time, including getting a girls number for the first time in way too long. It dawned on me that it's been way too long since I was in any sort of real relationship. Gotta do something about that.

Jewdatin? Sounds good. Wait, I mean, of course, dating non-jews is ok of course too, according to the precepts of Judah-ism. A religion of which you are an adherent (surprise!).
