I don't usually fill these out, but what the fuck... it's about music, and it's short.

01) Total volume of music files on my computer?

A lot... and growing constantly. As of right now, around 5000 song, 27.5 gigs. And I know some stuff I have at home isn't on this computer, so probably closer to 30 gigs.

02) The last CD I bought was ...

Oh... boy... that would have been a while ago. I think it was Sloan's last album. I bought it at the show. Second act? is that what it was called? Oddly enough, I never got around to ripping it, and have thus never really listened to it.

03a) The last song I listened to before writing this was ...

Muse - Plug in Baby

03b) Song playing right now:

Radiohead - Fake Plastic Trees

04) Five songs I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me:

  • Pink Floyd - Dogs
I think it's the best rock song in terms of telling a complete story. Pink floyd at it's best.

  • Radiohead - Where I End and You Begin
Vague, amazing lyrics, which I think are an elegy from god to humans about how we've left him all alone. How he's resigned to being a watcher rather than an acter.

  • Morcheeba - Over and Over
    Just beautiful. Listen to it.

  • Neutral Milk Hotel - Holland, 1945
Ok, I just got this album finally, and it's amazing. The whole album is a retrospective about the diary of anne frank. Brilliant. This song rocks. Poignant and rockin at the same time.

  • Pink Floyd - Welcome to the Machine
This is a great song, but the sentimental value is tremendous. I still remember the first time I heard it, driving through center city in my car with judah and eli. Eli played it on his CD player through the tape adapter. I think we were somewhere around 22nd and JFK. I didn't know music could be like that. Dark and disturbing and amazing and relying on things that aren't "instruments" and mind-blowing. It sounds hokey, but that's one of the few songs that I vividly remember my reactions from hearing it for the first time.

05) Which 5 (or 6) people are you passing this baton to, & why?

Oy. Anyone who reads this, because I love music and am always interested in hearing what others like and don't like and why. You fill it out, I promise I'll download all five of your songs and give em a listen.
