Oh, yeah... the weekend.

The weekend was weird. I didn't go to work on friday because I was at my grandpop's funeral. The funeral was sad, but good. I learned a lot about my grandfather. He was the head of the washington jewish delegation at the 1963 march on washington where Martin Luther King Jr. gave his "I have a dream" speech. He had Yitzchak Rabin and his wife over to his house for a BBQ. He met with Golda Meir on several occasions. And he once made arrogant frat boys pee strange colors just to fuck with their minds.

Then we sat shiva friday and saturday in DC. That's the most fun I've ever had mourning someone. I love my cousins... they're so much fun to hang out with. We haven't all got together in a good long time. Saturday afternoon we came back to philly, and Ali, Lucas, Micah and I went out to an open bar at some place ont he river that was just opening. We sat under an awning outside drinking as the rain poured and drunken women danced in the cold rain. It was fun. But only because the booze was free. If it wasn't, I dare say I wouldn't have had nearly as much fun. I woke up at 7 the next morning and was still quite drunk, so I went back to sleep until noon. Then did more family stuff.

I want to go see hitchhikers guide to the galaxy... anyone want to come with?

a) I've heard the movie isn't so great

b) if it's any time after thursday at 9am, I might want to go anyway, because I'll be done and want to celebrate (possibly intoxicated)

c) was the book helpful at all?

a) I've heard that too, and it doesn't matter. It won't diminish the brilliance of the book, and I'm too curious to not see it.

b) Might be possible... dov and I were thinking either wednesday or thursday, and no time has been set.

c) to be honest, I haven't looked at it. I'm dealing with it pretty well I think.
