I'm tired.

I had a really good weekend. Friday, after work, I bought a whole duck and some boneless chicken thighs to cook for this week. That night I got super lazy and sat around with my roommate watching TV and ordering chinese food. Good times.

Saturday, I got up semi-early, intending to go grocery shopping and do other errands. Instead I butchered my duck, and sealed all of it's parts and the chicken with my vacuum sealer thingie. It was the first time I used it. It's so awesome. I want to vacuum seal everything I find now. Mmmm... vacuum sealed grass clippings. Anyway, at 2:00 I went over to the park at 49th and Kingsessing for Devin's birthday kickball game. Is that not the greatest idea ever? Ali and I discussed doing the same thing for our birthdays, since they are coming up and within a few days of each other. Fun. I failed to go to see Star Wars with Eli and Jo at 4 for a variety of reasons, which sucks, but I've seen the movie already, and hopefully Jo will be here for a lot of the summer. Anyways, Avi and Anita and I went out to Manayunk to check out a going out of business sale at Pacific Rim. Didn't find anything, so we went into town to meet up with Brett, Sam, Brian and some of their friends to see hamlet. It was pretty good... Laertes sucked. King was great, Polonius was great, Hamlet alternately sucked and rocked. All in all, a good time. Then we went over to Rouge for a late demi-dinner. I had the cheese plate. Tasty.

Sunday I had to go to work from 10:00-12:30 or so. Not too bad. Afterward I went down to the delaware ave shopping district and "shopped". Of course, three of the stores I went to had nothing I wanted. I got some charcoal and a chimney igniter for my (free) grill, a new pair of shoes, and a shitload of groceries. First time I've gone grocery shopping since before Pesach. Friday, my step-sister graduated law school, so sunday night we all went out to dinner at panorama to celebrate. Panorama is gooooood food. I had this delicious veal chop in a garlic white wine demi-glaze. It was faboo. And grilled Radicchio with caramelized onions, fresh mozzarella, and a balsamic honey glaze. Delish. The other food that others had was also awesome, and the wine selection was way cool. They have this insane wine cabinet gizmo that keeps open bottles well sealed yet still easy to pour, so they have a ridiculous selection of wines by the glass. Something like 150. It looked like a super long set of bar taps, but without the crazy decorative head, and they were on eye level behind the bar. It was wicked cool.

Today, I'm super tired. They are renovating the house next door (cool), and they are working hard and getting it done faster than I expected (also cool). But do they really have to start working at 6:30 in the morning (not cool)?

Oh son of a bitch! You're early June aren't you (I am the worst friend ever, no really I have won awards)

What do you want?

Sounds like you have some awesome gadgets (what is a chimney igniter? Have you tried vacuum sealing your own body parts/pets/other peoples stuff yet?)

I am indeed 1/3 of the way through June! (10th)... you are the 26th, are you not? DO NOT DENY IT! I KNOW THE TRUTH THANKS TO MY CALENDAR OF DOOM! Though actually, I have it down in here for the 25th - 27th. that's a long ass birthday.

Ummm... want... I want world peace. And a bike. And santa's head on a stick. Ummm... a gerbil? a drum set? Just come home and drink with me and I'll be happy.

A chimney igniter is basically a metal can with a mesh 1/3 of the way up and a nice hefty handle. you fill the top 2/3rds with charcoal, bottom 1/3rd with newspaper. Burn the paper, and it lights the coals... let them sit for 20 minutes and then pour them into your grill and you have nicely lit and ready coals without any of that nasty lighterfluid taste.
