So, last night was my rescheduled birthday, and it was an absolute blast. Much thanks to all who showed up! For those who didn't, hopefully you will learn from your mistakes and come next year. It started out with Vlad, Brett and I meeting Eli and Erin over at the Nodding Head, then Micah, Avi, Yonah, Jox, Dov, and Leslie joined us. We had lots of awesome beer (including a delicious green wheat beer), and food. Then we went to a hackaday meetup in Rittenhouse Square, which was sort of lame. Avi, Dov and I did make it onto their website though.

After that, Desh picked up Avi, Jox, Dov, and I, and we headed back to my place to hang out for a bit. We hung out there for a bit, and ordered pizza for Desh since he hadn't eaten. Ali and Luke showed up at some point, having just got off the plane from california. We all hung out in my swank new room for a while, then Dov and Jox and Desh left. Micah came back and rejoined the party, and Ali and Luke were the last to leave, finally killing the party at 2:00 or so. All in all, it was a great time.

And I'm really tired.

Oh, and I renewed my passport today. I could go pick it up now, but I really don't feel like getting on the subway again. I'll do it next week.

Are you going somewhere, or did you just want to be one of those rare Americans who actually have a passport?

I'm going to... (drum roll please)... CANADA! Boo yah! Actually, I'm going on a cruise to alaska, so we have to fly to vancouver to pick up the boat.

Wow. I though Canada was the only country Americans could get into without a passport. You'll have to let me know how the cruise goes. My mom really wants to do that someday.

I think you're right actually, but it seemed like I should have it just in case... Oddly enough, when I was in the passport office, they told me that someone had found and turned in a passport I had lost years ago in prague... I always wondered what happened to that passport. I should have asked where it was turned in. Oh well.

it was fun. good to meet your friends, especially since i've been arguing with brett here on lj for some time without meeting him.

I really don't feel like getting on the subway again.
ride a bike! it's summer, silly to spend money on the sub when you could be getting fresh air [and building that bod].

I was at work... since I didn't ride into work that day (or, actually, any day this year), I had no bike to ride. Maybe I'll start riding my bike to work soon... haha... I should stop kidding myself.

I would ride with you if you want. I'm into that kind of thing. Anyway it's not that far - half an hour, 4 miles.
