Happy New Year! (and politics...)
Jan. 3rd, 2006 11:26 amTo all those I didn't talk to already, Happy New Year!
And thanks to all those who came to our party for making it a fucking crazy good time. It was, to use the colloquial, "bumpin". And especially thanks to dov for letting us use and abuse his house by bowing the floors, splattering melted chocolate about, and throwing marshmallows around with reckless abandon.
Also, on another happy note, Jack Abramoff pled guilty today to corruption, bribery, and general scoundrel-ness, and took a REDUCED sentence of 10 years in exchange for being a cooperative witness for the government. This makes me do a happy little dance. Also, it sets up what is sure to be a very interesting few months in DC. There are going to be SCOTUS confirmation hearings, corruption charges, wiretap investigations, and, dare I say it, possible articles of impeachment!
Oh yes, it's going to be an interesting few weeks.
For the record, I would happily throw a party if any of the following people are impeached, charged, convicted, resign, or mysteriously disappear to mexico:
George W. Bush
Dick Cheney
Tom Delay
Bill Frist
Ted Stevens
Rick Santorum
James Sensenbrenner
I think the bottom 4 are long shots, but the top three there... well, lets just say I think I'll have to have at least one party by june.

Date: 2006-01-03 09:33 am (UTC)I looked it up yesterday, and the whole Lewinsky investigation took less than a year. And the actual act Clinton was impeached on took place only about 4 months before the articles of impeachment were voted on in the House. Impeachment could happen by this time next year, especially if the Dems do really well this November...
