flyinbutrsOk, I've been super busy and stressed for the past few weeks, and updating the journal just didn't seem to make it into my schedule. However, as I sit here installing Oracle for the second time this morning, and the 5th or 6th time in the past two days, I feel justified in taking a few minutes to write an update.
Well, I'm finally settled in more or less in Philly, and already desperate to move out of my parents house. Don't get me wrong, I love my fam, but after living on my own for five years in a city, moving in with the rents in the burbs irritates me. Though I love the free homecooked meals and the quarterless laundry.
I love my new job, because it's much more interesting, and the things I learn are actually useful, as apposed to my last job where everything I learned would help me only inside of that company. It was akin to learning a dead language that only a select few people spoke... fun, but not very useful. Also, I have an office, and my desk is covered with LCD panels. They make me feel important. I'm not, but it's fun to pretend.
And the building I work in is right in the heart of Philadelphia, which makes me happy. I love this area, it has great architecture, some cool parks and places to walk around, and lots of good food.
On the down side, I really do miss a lot of my friends from Boston, which is part of the reason I've been driving back to Boston more or less every other weekend.
Anyway, lots of other stuff has happened, and in the past week or so, I've been in Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago and New York. In case you haven't noticed, I'm stressed.
And, I hate Airlines. They suck.
Anyway, I gotta go meet Dov for lunch... see ya.
